Biography

Gabriella M. Belfiglio is a poet, teacher, mother, activist who lives in Brooklyn, NY. 

She has taught self-defense, conflict resolution, karate, and tai chi to people of all ages throughout the five boroughs. She studied gender studies, literature and writing at Antioch College and received her MFA in Poetry from American University.

Her work has been published in many anthologies and journals including The Centrifugal Eye, Folio, Avanti Popolo, Poetic Voices without Borders, The Potomac Review, Lambda Literary Review, and Paterson Literary Review.

She is a winner of a W.B. Yeats Poetry Prize.  She has also been awarded a Saltonstall Artist Residency.

Gabriella is part of the trio of Sicilian American poets that make up The Ferlinghetti Girls.
